In the past few weeks, I have shared with you too many instances of hate. Today, I am proud to share with you a victory for love. I consider today's Supreme Court ruling enabling the Constitutional right to marriage for same-sex couples to be a huge success that furthers the Jewish values of human dignity.
The NY Times has an interactive collection of leaders who have changed their minds on gay marriage here. Faith leaders are included in this article, and Rabbi Daniel Nevins, Dean at the Jewish Theological Seminary's Division of Religious Leadership, shared his opinion and how he sees it connected to Torah values.
My Shabbat message this week is celebratory. I am proud to be an ally, and I am proud to be an American.
