Selichot

Join us on Saturday, September 24, at 8 pm, for a screening of "Atonement." Following the film, we'll have a discussion of the film and then share coffee and cake. At 10:30 pm, we'll gather together for a musical Selichot service led by Hazzan Michael Kasper and Rabbi Zoe B. Zak. It promises to be a meaningful and beautiful evening of music, prayer and community.

Rosh Hashanah EvE: SPECIAL KAVANNA SERVICE

Erev Rosh Hashanah: A Special Kavanna Service to Usher in the New Year, Sunday, Oct. 2, at 6 pm.
Come be with us, sing with us, meditate and pray with us as we usher in the New Year and prepare ourselves for the holy days ahead. The traditional Ma'ariv service will be enhanced with short intentions, communal chanting and relevant English readings to offer each person an opportunity for deeper connection to the liturgy. Non-members: please call the CSI Office at 845-358-3767 for ticket information. Tickets are a MUST for entry to the service.

Tashlich-on-Hudson

On the first day of Rosh Hashanah, Monday, October 3, we'll meet at CSI at 5:30 pm, walk down to the Hudson River together to participate in the Tashlich service at the water’s edge. Our Mincha and Ma’ariv services will take place at the River as well.

Children's Services

We have a full range of services and programs for each member of the family on both days of Rosh Hashanah and the day of Yom Kippur. We invite you to take advantage of them with your children or grandchildren.

All children's services run from 11 am to noon, in our School Building, as follows:

  • Newborn to 3 year olds, with a family member, in Room 1
  • 4 to 7 year olds, with a family member, in Room 5
  • Junior Congregation for 8 to 12 year olds, who can come on their own, in the Community Room

We welcome children of all ages in the Sanctuary during services as long as they are with their parents/guardians and are well behaved.

Strollers are permitted in the back area of the Social Hall and the School Building. For the safety of all, please do not bring strollers into the main Sanctuary area.

Babysitting During our Kol Nidrei Service

Kol Nidrei is a very solemn service for all of us. We respectfully request that ALL children under the age of 6 attend our Kol Nidrei babysitting. The fee is $10 per child or $18 per family. Registration is a MUST by Thursday, October 6, so that proper arrangements can be made.

High Holiday Playroom

On the two days of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur, we also offer our High Holiday Playroom, located in the School Building. The Playroom will be open from 10 am to the end of services.. There is no set fee for using the Playroom; however, we do ask that an appropriate donation be made to CSI. We ask that all children in the Playroom be accompanied by an adult.
