About our Logo:
The CSI Nyack logo symbolizes a renewed vision of our synagogue that we hope will inspire our community.
The logo visualizes CSI Nyack’s motto, "Pride in Our Past - Faith in Our Future." The three people represent our past, present, and future formed into the shape of an Ohel (Tent) as when Issac welcomed Rebecca into Sarah's tent.

Isaac then brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he took Rebekah as his wife. Isaac loved her, and thus found comfort after his mother’s death.(בְּרֵאשִׁית / Genesis 24:67)
Isaac introduced his new love into his late mother's tent and his life. He wanted her to understand who he was by showing her where he came from. Only when she absorbed that did he marry her.
Tent/Ohel isn’t just a dwelling, it refers to a whole worldview, a blueprint for how you relate to life. It's a prerequisite for growth and progress. The Hebrew word comprises the 2-letter word EL, meaning "toward," with the letter "Hay" in the middle. In Hebrew, words that comprise the EL word with another letter in the middle usually lead towards something. "Hay" is one letter of G-d's name and has a spiritual aura. Any successful journey "toward" a worthy goal needs to consider G-d. An OHEL or a tent represents a specific worldview with G-d in the center that radiates out to all aspects of life. Such a basic framework of reality provides the vision and confidence necessary for the brave and bold steps that often bring reward.
We have the blossoms of Judisiam in everyone's hand, and they all blossom at different levels, just like our journey into understanding our faith. However, like anything that grows, work needs to be put in. You need to water and sow for fields to grow and occasionally have to take a shmita (rest - a year off). We wanted to show movement, growth and love in our new logo, and we hope to welcome you to our ohel and our community.

Why these colors?
Primary Colors:

Why these fonts?
Josefin Sans is created by Santiago Orozco. Josefin Sans is an elegant, geometric, vintage typeface meant to be used in larger sizes. This is the elegant sans-serif typeface that is specially designed to be used inside different large text-based designs and along with that this font also comes with the maximum legibility score so for making text prominent this is the best choice. Futura is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Paul Renner and released in 1927. It was designed as a contribution to the New Frankfurt project. It is based on geometric shapes, especially circles, similar in spirit to the Bauhaus design style of the period. It was designed as a contribution to the New Frankfurt project. Futura’s modern design became a symbol of change and of German aesthetics, making it a critical motif for the Nazis. Fortunately, the Nazis favored the elaborate Fraktur typeface over the avant-garde Futura, exiling the font and its creator from Germany. By the time the Nazis were defeated, Futura had established itself as the international font of the future, appearing on the Apollo 11 spaceship and eventually taking over global advertisements and designs.
